The Four "D's" of Life

The Four "D's" of Life

Time as it is said, wait for no one. 2017 is almost coming to an end with three months before the end of the year. At the beginning of this year, we all made New Year Resolutions – to change and improve ourselves, our relationships with others, communication skills, finances, write a book, etc – we all have things in our lives we want to change but alone the way, we deviated from our resolutions and goals. I am a very good example of that but along the line I traced my steps back and it lead to the creation of this blog that has been on my mind since the beginning of this year. Do not lose hope just yet; with courage, faith, hard work and persistence, you can make the last three months of this year an extraordinary one. So how do you go about that? I propose the four D’s of life: Discover, Develop, Deploy and Discipline.
DISCOVER: We were created with different personalities and our ability to understand this gives us an edge in this jungle call life. Discover yourself; know your strength, weakness, limits, talents and abilities. Acknowledgement of these will place you on the right track in life.
Talent + Knowledge + Skill = Strength
Skill: if you have acquired a skill, practice and develop it. For you to be the best in whatever you do, practice, practice, practice.....and practice. That is the only way you can get the best out of yourself and if you don't have a skill, acquire one.
Talent: we were all created with talent or talents in us. Therefore discover and identify your talent or talents and use them positively.
Develop: you can develop yourself by improving your personality (changing a bad attitude, character or behavior), develop your communication and writing skills, change your appearance(dressing appropriately and look neat always), read good books(educative, spiritual, informative, motivational, technological, financial and investment books, novels, biographies and autobiographies books etc.). All these and many other developmental activities can greatly develop, boast and improve your personality.
Deploy: the only time you can get the best outs of your talent, knowledge and skill, is when you use it or deploy it to others. Use your, resources, talent, skill and knowledge to better humanity and the world (be involve in a community development project, volunteer to help teach street kids etc.). The more you positively deploy your skill, talents etc to other people, the better you become.
Discipline: can be the difference between being an ordinary person and an extraordinary person. In order to break out from the circle of mediocrity and change your status, you need discipline. There are people who in the midst of their near-success meets temptations that lead them to the wrong direction in life. To strengthen and improve the discipline in you, surround yourself with like-minded people (with the same goals, beliefs, characters, positive and optimistic attitudes.).
So there you have the four D’s of life that can help you in attaining your goals and becoming an enhanced individual. I encourage each of you to have a positive and optimistic attitude, believe in yourselves and never give up on your dreams. Ask yourself each day why you need to be better and live a fulfilled life. My advice to each of you is to write down your goals for the next three month (realistic and achievable goals), write down what you need to do to achieve them, remind yourselves each day about them and the remaining part of the year will be great.
